    Ingrown nails

    December 21st, 2009 by admin

Ingrown nails are a common foot problem, especially in those who wear tight footwear as this will push the skin around the nail into the nail. When the nail penetrates the skin, it obviously becomes painful, but also acts as a portal for an infection to get in. This can rapidly escalate into a potentially serious problems as the infection can spread. The initial treatment is to remove the piece of nail that is growing in. No treatment for the infection will work until the offending piece of nail is removed. After it has been removed the infection usually clears up easily without any treatment.
