Allow the bees to become accustomed to their new home

Thanks to everyone for making this site great. Working hard right now on re-design, so please be patient while the HIVE is under construction. Please read our full comments policy. Note: Comments are not edited and don’t represent the views of The Augusta Chronicle. However, when observing the native bees in the Canterbury province in the South Island, the scientists were astonished to see the bees biting the top off the buy honey bees buds, then pushing with their legs, occasionally popping open the buds to allow the bees to become accustomed to their new home. That action releases a mechanism which causes the petals to suddenly spring open, giving access to the nectar and pollen.
