On my first trip out of the country I discovered the hazards that come with eating food that is prepared differently from what I am accustomed to at home. My stomach picked up on something and I had to miss a great deal of our planned travel activities. By the time we returned home I was in need of medical assistance. My doctor treated me and advised that the next time I obtain travel insurance direct before making a trip. Had my condition been treated when it was first discovered I could have enjoyed the trip and saved myself a lot of discomfort.
